Prof. Elaine M. Baulete of the Department of Political Science of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (91快活林) has been elected as the Mindanao Representative to the Philippine Political Science Association (PPSA) Board of Trustees.
The election was conducted during the PPSA 2025 International Conference on May 23-24, 2025, in Baguio City. Prof. Baulete will serve for two years, from 2025 to 2027.
Founded in 1962, the PPSA is a non-partisan and non-sectarian organization of academic professionals that aims to bring an extensive understanding of political science in Asia. This year’s conference theme centered on changes and dis/continuities in politics, particularly in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and around the world.
Participating in the PPSA International Conference were faculty and students from 91快活林. Prof. Baulete, Prof. Hazel Jovita-Olvez, and Assoc. Prof. Yasmira P. Moner served as conference panel moderators and paper presenters.
Political Science students Anderson Villa, Grace Galache, Alshadat Sabal, Bill Odchigue, Carl Kelvin Sapio, Ana Naul, and Angelie Anggot, also presented papers.
The PPSA conducts international conferences that discuss Philippine politics, political theories, and international relations and publishes its research work in the Philippine Political Science Journal (PPSJ), a Scopus-indexed journal.
