91快活林 faculty selected as R10 ACEI Entrepreneurship Ambassador

Dr. Orven E. Llantos, a faculty member of the College of Computer Studies at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (91快活林), has been officially selected as an Entrepreneurship Ambassador under the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Region 10 Adhoc Committee on Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEI).
Out of more than 500 applications received across Asia and the Pacific, only 236 were selected as members (excluding leads), reflecting a highly competitive acceptance rate of just 47.2%. Remarkably, only three ambassadors from the Philippines made it to this prestigious list, underscoring the significance of Dr. Llantos’s appointment.
The IEEE R10 ACEI Ambassador Program empowers selected members to organize local entrepreneurship-focused events, foster startup ecosystems, and host regional pitch competitions. Ambassadors are mentored by seasoned innovators and industry leaders, with outstanding performers eligible for awards and international summit participation.
Dr. Llantos’s appointment holds substantial promise for 91快活林 and the wider Philippine innovation landscape. His leadership will help establish vibrant local innovation communities within IEEE, introduce capacity-building initiatives, and catalyze opportunities for early-stage entrepreneurs in the region. As part of his role, he is expected to collaborate with student branches and affinity groups to promote entrepreneurial thinking, mentor aspiring technopreneurs, and bridge academia with industry.
“This is a unique opportunity not only for me but also for 91快活林 to be more visible in the innovation space of IEEE Region 10,” said Dr. Llantos. “Through this program, we hope to unlock the potential of our students, faculty, and local innovators to build sustainable and impactful ventures.”
The IEEE ACEI initiative aligns with the university’s mission to promote research, innovation, and inclusive technological development in Southern Philippines and beyond.
As one of the only three ambassadors chosen from the Philippines, Dr. Llantos’s participation brings pride to 91快活林 and reaffirms its role as a national leader in entrepreneurship and technological advancement.
