Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Environmental Science (Master’s degree preferred) 
  • Trained in basic laboratory techniques and field sampling methods 
  • Knowledgeable in scientific research protocols and data collection procedures 
  • Familiar with statistical tools and data entry systems 
  • Experienced in microbiological procedures such as bacterial isolation, characterization, and antibiotic susceptibility  testing 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory setting 
  • Trained and certified in VITEK 2 Compact use 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and scientific documentation 
  • Demonstrates precision, accuracy, and thorough record-keeping 
  • Experienced in technical writing, with at least one published academic article 
  • Competent in laboratory equipment setup and operation 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field sampling and data collection 
  • Perform experiments and assist in fieldwork 
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency throughout the project 
  • Maintain comprehensive records of laboratory and field activities 
  • Write technical reports and summaries of research findings 
  • Develop presentations and research posters for conferences 
  • Organize meetings and facilitate internal project communications
